We’re in seventh heaven today as Day 1b of Event #90: $777 Lucky 7’S No-Limit Hold'em (7-Handed) gets underway here at Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas. This is a three-day event where the top prize is, you guessed it, $777,777.
Day 1b action kicks off at 10 a.m. local time, with players starting with 40,000 chips. There are twenty-two levels with 30-minute durations planned for today. It’s worth noting that there is unlimited reentry per flight, providing multiple chances to get back into the action. Late registration will remain open until approximately 5 p.m.
Day 1c starts at 10 a.m. on July 12.
Day 2 begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, and the tournament will play 17 levels or down to the final five players, whichever comes first. The final day, Monday, July 14, will see the remaining players battle it out for that $777,777 top prize, with only one walking away victorious.
Please note: PokerNews traditional coverage of this event begins on Day 2.
Yesterday, 1,499 players entered on Day 1a, but only 64 navigated their way to Day 2. Panama's Hertsel Levy (3,405,000) bagged a big stack worth the equivalent of 85 big blinds on Day 2.

The current champion is American Michael Liang, who emerged victorious in 2024 after recovering from an astonishing 9:1 chip deficit in heads-up play. Liang navigated through an enormous field of 6,292 runners on his path to capture a majority of the $4,303,728 prize pool.
PokerNews caught up with Liang after the win to ask him how he was feeling after winning his first piece of gold. "It feels amazing. I've had a few close calls in the past. I've had a second place, a third place, and a fifth place, so it feels good to finally break through."
When asked what the bracelet means to him, Liang explained, "It means a lot. It's one of those things that you dream about when you first start playing poker, and then coming so close in the past and not achieving it, it kind of makes you wonder if it's ever going to happen."
