Near Misses for Ambassadors as Spraggy Still Looking for SCOOP Breakthrough

Fintan Hand
Fintan Hand

Thursday’s action saw several PokerStars ambassadors come painfully close to tasting SCOOP glory.

Fintan “easywithaces” Hand was chasing his fourth SCOOP title and made a deep run in SCOOP 103-H: $1,050 PKO, finishing 4th for $8,509 plus $4,500 in bounties. The title went to “whaleptt” of Belarus, who defeated Ole “wizowizo” Schemion heads-up for $16,352 and $30,578 in bounties.

Sebastian “peace&loove” Huber also came up just short of another win, placing 4th in SCOOP 111-M: $109 Mystery Bounty Cooldown for $4,420 and $6,609 in bounties, a performance that helped his team leap into second on the SCOOP League leaderboard.

Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg continues to hunt for his first SCOOP title. He finished 11th in the $530 Mystery Cooldown for $1,521, including one of the five $7,500 mystery bounties, and added a 14th-place finish in the $530 Deep Stacks event for $2,239.

Team Kelvin_FP:AR Holds Firm as Peace&Loove Surges into Second

SCOOP League
SCOOP League

With just a few days left in the 2025 SCOOP League, the leaderboard has taken another turn, but at the top, Team Kelvin_FP:AR continues to set the pace.

After another solid showing on Thursday, Kelvin Kerber’s squad added 345 points to extend their lead at the top with 6,535 points overall. Kerber himself has been in red-hot form this series, and the consistency of his team has made them the ones to beat heading into the final SCOOP weekend.

But the biggest movers of the day were Sebastian Huber's Team peace&loove, who leapfrogged into second place thanks to a 465-point performance on Thursday. Their late surge has brought them within striking distance of the top spot at 6,375 points.

Meanwhile, after leading for much of the series, Team Spraggy has now slipped to third with 6,285 points. Thursday was a memorable day for captain Ben "Spraggy" Spragg and his wife Marle Spragg, who announced they are expecting a baby this October but the baby rungood hasn’t kicked in just yet on the virtual felt. That said, with just 250 points separating first and third, anything can still happen.

The bottom two teams, Team easywithaces and Team tonkaaaa, both posted modest Thursday scores. While they remain somewhat mathematically in the race, they’ll need a near-perfect final weekend to climb back into contention.

SCOOP

SCOOP) is known for massive prize pools and high-stakes battles but it can also be the home of some of the most inspiring underdog stories in online poker. This week, two players turned tiny satellite investments into SCOOP titles, five-figure paydays, and the kind of poker dream that keeps grinders coming back.

"RRi59" Spins $1.65 Satellite into SCOOP Title in Mystery Bounty Mayhem

From $1.65 to a champion.

"RRi59" completed one of the best underdog stories of the 2025 Spring Championship of Online Poker, taking down SCOOP 111-L: $11 NLHE [7-Max, Turbo, Mystery Bounty, Daily Cooldown]. The Indonesian player outlasted a massive 8,241-entry field to win $4,853 in prize money and bounties and their first-ever SCOOP title.

The event generated a total prize pool of $80,762, split evenly between the regular prize pool and the mystery bounty pool. RRi59 secured mystery bounty payouts worth $402 en route to their victory.

"dweep2" Turns $22 Satellite Into $18K Payday and SCOOP Gold

Another satellite hero emerged in SCOOP 103-M: $215 NLHE [Progressive KO], where Ukrainian player "dweep2" battled through a two-day marathon and 838 total entries to score their first SCOOP title.

With the $215 buy-in gained through a $22 satellite, the ROI alone would’ve made for a great story. But dweep2 went the full distance, shipping the title for a combined $18,486, including a monstrous $5,166 in bounties.

Weekend SCOOP Preview: Almost $6M Guaranteed as SCOOP Enters Final Weekend

SCOOP
SCOOP

The final weekend of the 2025 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is almost here, and while Friday offers a well-earned breather, the action resumes in full force on Saturday and Sunday with almost $6 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Saturday, June 1 – Deep Stacks, HORSE and a KO Storm

Saturday kicks off at 5:05 p.m. UTC with SCOOP 113, a triple-tiered No-Limit Hold’em Deep Stack event. Later, the mixed-game aficionados get their fix with a full suite of SCOOP 114 HORSE Progressive KO events at 6:30 p.m. UTC.

From there, it’s straight into bounty territory. The Mini Bounty Builder High Roller begins at 7:30 p.m. UTC as part of SCOOP 115, with buy-ins ranging from $55 to $1,050. By night’s end, players can also jump into fast-paced Turbo formats in both NLO8 (SCOOP 116) and 6-Max Hold’em (SCOOP 117), before the day wraps up with the Daily Cooldown Mystery Bounties (SCOOP 118) at 11:30 p.m. UTC.

Sunday, June 2 – Kickoffs, Warm-Ups, and a Second Shot at the Main

Sunday is the last true SCOOP Sunday, and PokerStars is going all-out. First up are the SCOOP 119 Sunday Kickoff events at 3:05 p.m. UTC, followed by the Sunday Warm-Ups (SCOOP 120) at 5:05 p.m. UTC, both Progressive KO formats with huge prize pools.

But the main course is undeniably SCOOP 121, a “Main Event 2nd Chance” across Low ($55), Medium ($215), and High ($1,050) tiers. With $2.15 million in combined guarantees, it’s the perfect shot at redemption for those who fell short earlier in the week.

There’s still more to come, including:

  • PLO Progressive KO (SCOOP 122) at 8:30 p.m. UTC
  • Mystery Bounty “Series Saver” events (SCOOP 123) at 10:05 p.m. UTC
  • Sunday Cooldown SE turbos (SCOOP 124) at 11:30 p.m. UTC

SCOOP Thursday Recap: Mattsson’s Gets Record-Extending 14th Title and Satellite Heroes Shine

Simon Mattsson
Simon Mattsson

Another dramatic day of action played out on PokerStars yesterday as the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) powered toward its final stretch. The latest batch of events saw fresh-faced champions, veteran crushers returning to the winner’s circle, and a few feel-good satellite stories that prove you don’t need a big bankroll to score big.

Simon “C.Darwin2” Mattsson continues to cement his legacy as one of the series’ all-time greats. The Swedish superstar claimed his fifth title of the 2025 series — and a record-extending 14th of his career — after taking down SCOOP 107-H: $1,050 5-Card PLO [6-Max, Progressive KO] for $26,612. His run is one of the defining performances of this year’s championship.

There was also a standout story in SCOOP 103-M, where dweep2 turned a $22 satellite entry into an $18,486 payday, good for a jaw-dropping 839% ROI. Likewise, RRi59 pulled off an even more impressive feat in SCOOP 111-L, converting a $1.65 seat into $5,255 and their first-ever SCOOP title, for a staggering 3184% ROI.

Familiar Names Back on Top

Two players also won their third career SCOOP titles. Daniel “dani aziz” Aziz bagged #3 in SCOOP 110-M ($25,521), and HighRiskHReward in SCOOP 110-H ($31,485)

And in the Hyper-turbo finale of the night, Gediminas “Gedis92” Uselis nabbed his second title with a $24,051 win in SCOOP 112-H.

Team Kelvin_FP:AR is still leading the 2025 SCOOP League with only four days of the series remaining. Kevin Kerber's team has 6,190 points, 200 more than long-time leaders Team Spraggy.

Benjamin Spragg's team could drop into third thanks to a resurgent Team Peace&Loove, which is only 80 points behind.

Fintan Hand's Team easywithaces occupies fourth spot, with Parker Talbot's Team tonkaaaa looking set for the wooden spoon. Talbot's plight won't be helped by Denis "Adrenalin710" Strebkov ending his quest for more SCOOP titles for 2025; he's currently deep in a WSOP event in Las Vegas!
