From Overwhelmed to Informed: How Nemo Rethinks the Investing Experience

What happens when you mix cutting-edge AI, a slick user experience, and a deep understanding of the confusion most people face when investing?
You get Nemo Money, a multi-asset investing app designed to empower everyday investors with clarity, confidence, and control. We sat down with Nicholas Scott (CEO) and Alex Bowler (Product Lead) to explore how Nemo is rethinking the investment app model for the 70% of users who feel unsure about what they're doing.
Helping Investors Feel in Control
What began as a pitch for a multi-asset investing app has grown into Nemo.money: a clear, goal-based investing app shaped by real user feedback. Early research revealed a key insight.
"Roughly 70 to 75% of retail investors don't have a real strategy," says Scott. "They don't know what to invest in, when, or why. That's the group we wanted to help."
Initially focused on stocks, Nemo has since expanded to include crypto and leveraged CFDs, but the mission has stayed the same: helping users invest with purpose.
"We've always aimed to align the app with people's goals, interests, and long-term thinking," says Scott.

Smarter Investing with AI
A big part of the app, and one of Nemo's standout features is its AI-driven analysis of fundamental company data, something Scott notes "most people just don't understand."
For the 6,000+ stocks on the platform, Nemo ingests 50 to 100+ data points per company, updating daily. "You'd need 500 analysts to do what our AI does," says Scott.
Those data points feed into GPT, which rates each stock's financial health from Poor to Excellent, and explains the rating in plain English. The AI highlights relevant figures and simplifies the financials, helping users understand not just what the score is, but why it matters.

Clearer Portfolio Insights
Nemo also uses AI to make portfolio tracking easier and more insightful. One tool explains why individual holdings have moved up or down in the past 24 hours, ideal for users who can't check the app constantly.
Another provides a diversification score based on a user's asset mix. If you're concentrated in one or two stocks, you'll score low; spread across sectors or ETFs, you'll score higher, and get suggestions to improve.
"This kind of analysis used to require a financial advisor," says Scott. "Now it's just part of the app."
From Exposure to True Crypto Ownership
Currently, users can gain crypto exposure via derivatives—with or without leverage—but they don't own the coins themselves.
"We're working on integrating with a crypto exchange," says Bowler. "That means users will actually own the assets and can transfer them out. It's a big step toward giving people more control."
Alongside expanded deposit and withdrawal options, it marks the next phase of making Nemo a truly full-featured platform for modern investors.
Discovering "Nemes"
Nemo is also rolling out a new feature called Nemes. These are thematic, curated bundles of investments designed to match users' goals or interests. Each Neme includes a mix of assets like stocks, ETFs, and eventually crypto, all centered around a specific theme such as "AI & Innovation" or "Green Energy."
"We wanted to make it easier for people to start investing around something they care about, without needing to research every individual asset," says Scott. "Nemes are like a starting point - diversified, transparent, and fully customizable."
The team plans to integrate Nemes into the onboarding process, helping users quickly build a portfolio that reflects their mindset from day one.
