Three-time World Poker Tour (WPT) champion Eric Afriat has just won surely the biggest hand of Day 6 at the WSOP Main Event, raking in a pot worth over 20 million chips to catapult himself into the overall chip lead.

Afriat eliminated two-time bracelet winner Bruno Furth and American Benjamin Williams in the same hand, cracking both pocket aces and top set to take a commanding lead as play winds down for the day.

“I just felt lucky,” Afriat said after the hand, as he scooped in nearly 200 big blinds while high-fiving a fired-up rail cheering on the Canadian.

Watch how one of the most dramatic hands of the Main Event unfolded, captured by PokerNews’ David Salituro:

The action began as Afriat raised to 250,000 under the gun, with Furth making the call in early position. Williams then moved all-in for 1,400,000 from middle position, and both Afriat and Furth found the call.

The flop came Q32, leading to a bet of 1,000,000 from Afriat. Once again, Furth would call before the 9 fell on the turn. Afriat made a further bet of 3,000,000 before Furth moved all in for 8,140,000.

Afriat would take a moment to consider before making the call, creating a pot worth more than 20,000,000.

Bruno Furth: QQ
Benjamin Williams: AA

Behind on the turn, Afriat needed help on the river, and the K delivered, giving him a straight.

“I’m so sorry,” he told Furth, embracing his busted opponent before heading over to celebrate with his rail. The pot pushed Afriat to nearly 30 million chips and into a clear lead in the WSOP Main Event.

Afriat would also add, "I had my lucky masseuse with me. I just felt lucky," as both Williams and Furth exited stage left.
